I have been writing stories for a long time but I did it for fun and in my leisure. One I started work on again which was in my computer but not finished. There are no original ideas anymore in the area of vampire stories except maybe background details. I went to see Eclipse, haven't read her books nor many others. I stopped reading books like that long ago because I didn't want it to infringe on my own ideas. Doesn't matter, Stephanie Meyers named one or her characters the same as one of mine and she goes into imprinting which she didn't invent. It is just how it applies to the stories that are different and others have used that. They will lose because some of these things cannot be avoided. Vampires have a basic form whether they can be in daylight, eat, drink blood or don't ect. The other girls book, heh. I have a site with the word Nocturne in it. Others have used that as well long before she is trying to take it. What about Harry Potter, that name was used way before Rowling's books in a movie called Troll. The lady needs to get over it. Doesn't matter because her story will have a different plot and probably characters and background, so she needs to suck it up. I changed some of the words in mine and moved on.

This was my reaction as well, from the letter it doesn't appear to be similar enough to be plagiarism.

Cheers,

I've just read the first few passages, but I wouldn't consider any of it plagiarism. I'll have to read more of it later.

I'd like to see the page-by-page analysis they're referring to. Personally, I don't have an affection for the Twilight series -- never read one book -- but in cases like this, it's often a PR ploy by agent representatives to make a name for their books and their unknown authors. What do you think?
