I have made the mistake of starting the Hyperion series and the Malazan Book of the Fallen series at the same time … now I need to choose which book I need to read most next :)

Hyperion was certainly a book I did not expect. Amazing story. Fortunately, I had bought the omnibus edition which is a Hyperion + The fall of Hyperion in one book. Unfortunately, I got extremely tired near the end of the 2nd book :(

Glad to hear it! Lucky I have a week off work otherwise I might have to have some loooong lunches ;)

Sad to hear that you’re not enjoying Earthsea though — it’s one of my all-time favourites. A very different pace and different themes etc than Hyperion though.

What a coincidence! I’m reading Hyperion at the moment during my lunch breack. It’s a great read and it’s hard to put down the book and start working again. Before Hyperion I tried to read the first Earthsea novel but I found it so boring that I put it down unfinished and started Hyperion

Heh that’s the problem with good books … when you start finding them, you make a list, and the list never gets shorter :)
