The last time I became suddenly completely obsessed by a world of fantasy was when I first picked up Anne McCaffrey's Dragonflight, over a decade ago. I picked up the Ill-Made Mute at a used-book store somewhere, and have not been able to put it down since. I was awake until 4 am this morning finding out what happened to Imrhien, who is not only quite dimensional, but grew tremendously over the course of the book, becoming both heartbreaking and inspiring all at once.

Now I am devouring everything I can about its author, just bought the two remaining books online, in their first US editions, but am at the same time scouring area libraries for the second book, impatient to begin.

Bravo, Ms. Dart-Thornton. I can't wait to see what happens!

"The kind of person who resembles me. The kind of person who loves the pre-Raphaelite artists, the romantic poets, the classic authors and movies such as Labyrinth, Willow and The House of Flying Daggers; people whose inner life is set in some misty European-type landscape of snow-capped mountains, dark forests and fast-flowing rivers; people who are kind, intuitive, creative and of course *highly* intelligent with *superb* taste in literature."

Ahh yes describes me to a tee.

Great interview Renai.

Cecelia sounds like someone to meet in real life as well as massive encouragement for anyone who feels the "need" to write.
